Four Different Effects Of PE Protective Film

The pressure sensitive adhesive used in PE protective film can be divided into four kinds: natural rubber, synthetic rubber, water soluble acrylic acid and solvent acrylic acid. The key to the quality of PE protective film is determined by the properties of the glue. They have different characteristics:

1. natural rubber has high cohesive force, so it does not usually produce residual glue. The viscosity is regulated by the resin and the additive. However, the coating process is rather complicated. It is necessary to apply primer on the film to improve the surface energy of the film before coating the natural rubber on the PE film. In the indoor environment, natural rubber can remain unchanged for 2 years, but in ultraviolet light, it degrades and degrades in 3-12 months. The black and white PE protection film is usually composed of three layers: the most inner layer: the most inner layer: black, which can effectively absorb ultraviolet light; the middle layer: white, can reflect the light, so that the PE protection film can less absorb energy, reduce the aging of the colloid, the surface layer: White: it can completely cover the dark color of the inner layer, and the pure white color can make the printing more beautiful. So even if the sun explodes outside for 12 months, the rubber will not age. The worry of the elimination of the manufacturers. The typical natural rubber is light yellow. Natural rubber has very good initial adhesiveness. It is difficult to untie the adhesive when it is contacted with glue.

2. synthetic rubber can provide higher viscosity and weatherability, but the time is long, the glue will be cured and the initial viscosity is reduced, so the natural rubber is usually added in the synthetic rubber.

3. water soluble acrylic acid is used as a medium to dissolve acrylic monomers. Because of environmental protection and solvent recovery devices, water soluble colloids are often used in developing countries to produce PE protective films. Water soluble acrylic basically has the characteristics of solvent based PE protective film.  The glue surface of water-soluble PE protective film should avoid and reduce contact with water vapor to avoid residual glue. The characteristic of the water-soluble glue protective film is that it is very easy and fast to tear away. Water soluble acrylic protective films are widely used in the United States and Asia.

4. solvent acrylic acid is used as solvent to dissolve acrylic monomers.

Acrylic adhesive is very transparent, very durable, and can last up to 10 years. When exposed to ultraviolet light, the glue slowly solidifies.  Compared with rubber, the initial viscosity of acrylic adhesive is relatively low. After the corona treatment, the acrylic adhesive can be directly coated without any primer. Acrylic PE protective film makes jitter and shrill noises when unwinding, while the rubber PE protective film is very light when unwinding. Compared with acrylic rubber, rubber is very soft and fluidity. After the pressure, fast contact with the surface, so the biggest advantage of the rubber PE protection film is the rapid viscosity, after the pressure roller quickly reached the ultimate stickiness. It is suitable for cutting the board plant, and it is also very convenient for the end user to tear the film. For rough surfaces, after pressure, the mobility of the rubber molecules is better, and it can be pressed into various sunken surfaces quickly and fully contacted with the surface. And acrylic gum is very hard and poor fluidity, so the adhesive force of the acrylic type protection film is slow. Even after the pressure, the colloid and the surface can not be fully contacted. After 30-60 days, the adhesive will be fully exposed to the surface to achieve the ultimate stickiness, and the ultimate stickiness is often more viscous than the stickiness at the time of sticking. It's 2-3 times bigger.
